Our first queen courts

2022-2023 THE INAGURAL COURT

In August of 2022 the first ever Miss Pleasantville court was crowned at the 2nd annual Pleasantville Music and Street Festival. There was a desire for a group of young women to not only promote our new, growing festival but also who could be the epitome of poise, confidence and leadership in our small village. These girls represented our community beautifully, all over the state of Ohio and made numerous friends from other festivals and pageants.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Miss Pleasantville, Jocelyn Barnecut, is currently a freshman and is on the competition dance team at Ohio University.

Junior Miss Pleasantville, Mia West, is currently Junior Miss Moonshine and is planning on continuing her pageant journey in the future.

Little Miss Pleasantville, Caydence Fleming is currently on a nationally winning competition cheer team.

Tiny Miss Pleasantville, Kenzlie Wilson is taking care of all of her animals and just got a new dog named Tequila.

2023-2024 Court

Miss Pleasantville, Ginger West, is a sophomore at an online school and was recently crowned Hometown Hearts Queen of Hearts and is continuing her pageant journey.

Junior Miss Pleasantville, Charlotte Baker

Little Miss Pleasantville, Kora Wilson, just began her first flag football season after expressing a desire to play football to her family.

Tiny Miss Pleasantville, Lillian Hunter, still loves playing and continues being her true, sassy self who we all love.

Empower. Engage. Inspire.

Our mission statement and vision for our program embody the three words that are the pillars of the Miss Pleasantville Queen Program.

Empower: Our program is dedicated to uplifting young women, encouraging them to embrace confidence, courage, and leadership. We believe that true empowerment comes from recognizing one's strengths, finding purpose, and stepping boldly into the world with determination. Through mentorship, opportunities for growth, and meaningful experiences, we help participants discover their place—not just within their communities, but in the larger world as they shape their futures.

Engage: Active involvement is at the heart of our mission. Pleasantville Queens fosters a deep connection to community by encouraging volunteerism, participation in local and statewide events, and building friendships that last a lifetime. Through meaningful engagements, our queens develop relationships that not only enrich their present experiences but open doors to future opportunities. By serving, collaborating, and networking, they learn the value of leadership and the impact of positive connections.

Inspire: Our program instills a sense of grace, poise, and responsibility in every participant, ensuring they become role models for those around them. A Pleasantville Queen carries herself with dignity and pride, inspiring others to embrace their best selves. Through service, representation, and a dedication to excellence, our queens lead by example—showcasing the strength, beauty, and heart of their community with every step they take.

After each pageant, the friends our court has made are invited to our Queens Luncheon to welcome the new court and say farewell to the outgoing court. We’re always so happy to host our guests. Our queens also attend other courts’ luncheons when they attend festivals and parades and sometimes there are so many queens in attendance they can’t fit in a photo! This is the connection we hope all of our queens experience

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No! Many of our contestants ran for the Miss Pleasantville court as their first venture in pageantry! We don’t expect our contestants to be professional pageant girls. We prefer authenticity and natural beauty, including inner beauty!

  • Pageants are often seen as providing opportunities for developing confidence, poise, public speaking skills, and potentially networking opportunities.

  • Our queens do have attendance requirements but there is no requirement for how far you travel!

  • Each court member has a different requirement, however you’re welcome to travel together as often as you like! If there is a special festival you would like to attend and the other court members don’t want to go, you’re still welcome to go! We encourage each girl to have their own experience while also building a sisterhood with their court!

  • Yes!! Our whole court is expected to attend all events in the Pleasantville community (including, but not limited to, the festival, Lunch with Santa, Christmas Parade, Memorial Day Parade, lunch with the Easter Bunny) as well as The Baltimore Festival and the Lancaster holiday parade and 4th of July Parade.

  • Absolutely! We encourage well-rounded young women! Our queens have been cheerleaders, marching band members, softball players, dancers, gymnasts, Junior Fair Queens and soccer players, among other things! Mandatory event attendance is excused if you have a school or team function!

  • Each court member will have many opportunities to speak on various stages in front of many people. We understand Little Miss and Tiny Miss Pleasantville might freeze when handed a microphone and that’s totally fine! In that case we know our Junior Miss and Miss queens will be there to support and guide our littles on what they need to say. And the older queens can always speak for the littles if they need to! The important thing is that they get on stage and try! This is why their on-stage presence is so important to our judging process. Miss and Junior Miss should be able to speak into a microphone, to group in a poised, confident manner to tell about and invite people to our festival.
